The organization emerged from the rural parts of Siyancuma Municipality after the community realized the lack of services from the state and private sector even from the discovery of Diamonds on the banks of the Orange River. The community was trapped in poverty and have become dependent on social grants. Farm workers and farm dwellers were violated and we deemed it fit to defend the rights of our people.

Salt Lake Residents Action Group ( SARAG Development Agency )was established on the 29th December 2004 as an advocacy group for Human Rights of the rural communities where where they operated. The organization was officially registered as an NPO on the 2nd May 2006. The idea of the organization is to  address the Human Rights Violations of the community as well as to provide the necessary services for the upliftment of the communities they are working in. The organization will form partnership with relevant stakeholders in uplifting the community

Counselling Support

Sarag offer counselling to families and communities effected by domestic violence ,HIV/AIDS and related conditions.

Community Assistance

We want to see social strong and healthy communities therefore as SARAG we would seek for opportunities to better our communities though: Having programs to address Teenage Pregnancies Reducing the infection rate of HIV/Aids through education Reducing Violence against Women And Children Domestic Violence Eradicate poverty through skills development and community gardens Influencing the social behavior of Men and Boys

Training & Education

We offer skills development training to give beneficiaries the necessary knowledge to obtain employment or to become self-sustainable through creating projects that affords them the opportunity tp become self-sufficient.
